Aperitifs based on wine and 100% Piedmontese bubbles: Cocchi has been producing vermouth and traditional Asti sparkling wines since 1891. From the founder Giulio Cocchi the winery has also inherited an inexhaustible liveliness and a qualitative research that leads it to be known and appreciated on five continents. All Cocchi products are based on wine and the recipes are those of the past, codified on the basis of the intuitions of Giulio Cocchi himself.
Cocchi Americano is so-called both due to the alcohol made bitter (“amaricato”) by the addition of herbs and spices and to the American habit of drinking vermouth with ice and soda. Cocchi Rosa is produced with red wines, from which it derives its natural red colour and wild rose notes. Refined with natural extracts of flowers and spices, in particular gentian, cinchona and citrus as per the Americano Bianco but with the addition of saffron, vanilla and rose petals.
Nose:
Red berry fruit, with herbs and vanilla.
Palate:
Zesty citrus, strawberries and other red fruit are clear, while the red wine base adds more character, before vanilla, gentian add bitterness.
Finish:
Lingering herbal finish.
