Disaronno is an iconic brand known for its original amaretto liqueur, Disaronno Originale, which boasts a rich history dating back to the Renaissance. Originating in 1525 in the town of Saronno, Italy, the liqueur was first created by a student of Leonardo da Vinci, who gifted it to his hospitable innkeeper as a token of gratitude. The recipe was rediscovered in the early 20th century by the Reina family, who began producing it commercially.
