Glenfiddich is one of the most iconic single malt Scotch whisky brands, deeply rooted in tradition and family heritage. The distillery was founded in 1886 by William Grant in Dufftown, Scotland, in the valley of the River Fiddich, which is Gaelic for "valley of the deer." With the help of his nine children, Grant built the distillery by hand, and the first whisky ran from the stills on Christmas Day, 1887.
This whisky is celebrated for its distinctive fresh and fruity profile, which has made it a favorite among both newcomers and seasoned whisky enthusiasts. It’s the foundational expression from which all other variants of Glenfiddich derive, making it a critical piece of the distillery’s range and a representation of their longstanding tradition in whisky making.
Nose:
The aroma is notably fresh and fruity, with a clear hint of pear. This signature scent is complemented by an overall beautifully crafted and delicately balanced profile.
Palate:
The taste features characteristic sweet, fruity notes, which develop into rich flavors of butterscotch, cream, malt, and subtle oak, providing a well-rounded and enjoyable experience.
Finish:
The finish is long, smooth, and mellow, lingering pleasantly and rounding off the experience with a classic Speyside character.
