Hope Distillery, located in Cape Town, South Africa, is a pioneer in the craft spirits industry. Established in 2014 by Lucy Beard and Leigh Lisk, two former lawyers from London, the distillery was the first licensed small-batch distillery in Cape Town. It initially focused solely on producing gin but has since expanded its offerings to include small batch vodka, agave spirit, and rhum agricole, alongside a diverse range of gins.

The African Botanical Gin is distinctively crafted with South Africa’s native fynbos, including kapokbos and buchu, infused into a local grain spirit.

Nose:

The gin presents a bouquet of floral and herbaceous notes attributed to the kapokbos, a wild sweet rosemary, and the fresh scent of buchu which provides a blackcurrant aroma.

Palate:

On the palate, this gin offers a harmonious blend of the floral kapokbos and the distinctive tangy flavor of buchu, combined with subtle hints of citrus.

Finish:

The finish is refreshing and long-lasting, marked by the robust flavors of the botanicals.
