Oude Molen is a historic brandy distillery in South Africa, founded by René Santhagens in 1910. René, originally from the Netherlands, moved to South Africa where he purchased a farm called Oude Molen in Stellenbosch and started his brandy production using traditional Cognac methods. He was deeply committed to quality, influencing the Wine and Spirits Act of 1924, which set high standards for brandy production in South Africa.
