Johan Venter didn’t start as an inventor but as a scientist, a highly structured and controlled thinker. A researcher who may have started his career with wine, but in the end, it was spirits that captured his imagination. He went on to become one of the most awarded and respected spirit masters in the world and developed some of South Africa’s most prestigious, iconic, and most loved brands. Expertly distilled at the internationally awarded James Sedgwick Distillery, this single cask was so rare and limited that it was destined to be brought to life as a limited release by The Inventer. It is made exclusively from premium quality South African maize. Once distilled, the spirit matured for eight years in barrel. It spent three years in a first-fill ex-bourbon cask, then continued its journey in second and third-fill casks that rounded off this special whisky’s unique identity.
Nose:
Fruity with hints of vanilla and oak.
Palate:
Sweet vanilla and honey.
Finish:
Long finish and well-balanced with oak and sweet spices.
