Six generations of Louws have practiced the art of winemaking at Diemersdal since the Estate passed into their hands in 1885. More than 12 decades later Diemersdal is a well-known landmark in the lush Durbanville Valley one of the Cape’s oldest wine regions. Diemersdal forms part of the Wine of Origin Cape Town where cooling mists from the Atlantic Ocean roll over the vineyards every afternoon contributing to the unique character of Diemersdal wines.

The grapes for the Private Collection are sourced from selected vineyard sites within the Diemersdal Estate in Durbanville, South Africa. The vineyards benefit from the region’s cool climate, influenced by the nearby Atlantic Ocean, which helps to enhance the concentration of flavors and maintain natural acidity​.

Post-fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels, allowing the different components to integrate and develop complexity​.

This blend is crafted from classic Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. Each variety is fermented separately in stainless steel tanks to maintain purity of flavor.
