Gil Pejenaute

These are the bases of this family project that arises in this land where the Romans initiated the cultivation of the vine and later in the Middle Ages one of the first female Cistercian orders of the peninsula (Monastery of Trasobares), rescued from oblivion. This project is based in the village of Tabuenca, located on a high plateau of the Iberian system. Its abrupt morphology and soil density were enough reasons to make us fall in love at first sight. The aim of this small project is to be able to control all the processes, putting up a wine-growing region of great value, TABUENCA, and obtaining the resources that nature lends us with the greatest environmental commitment, with the certainty that in this way we will obtain wines of maximum purity, honesty and longevity. We work in a sustainable way, both in the winery and in the vineyard, using only natural products and avoiding erosion and soil compaction. Javier Gil Pejenaute decided to embark on this exciting personal project after leaving a trail of success in the most important winery in Alfaro. An intimate and personal project, to rescue those forgotten vineyards and place them on the most demanding tables in the world.
