These grapes produce a light bodied red wine. The vines are grown mainly in Sicily on the slopes of Mount Etna. Often likened in style to Pinot noir this wine is generally expressive of red fruit with notes of cinnamon and dried herbs. The wine has a pleasant, lingerinng acidity, fine structure and a slight volcanic minerality which speaks to its origins.
