Riserva d'Oro Millesimato Brut

Besides being the perfect aperitif, Rotari Riserva d'Oro Millesimato Brut pairs very well with canapes, starters, vegetable-based dishes, fried fish and fish dishes, white meats and various risotto recipes.

Gruppo Mezzacorona is located in Trento’s Piana Rotaliana, near the town of Mezzocorona. The Group includes Cantine Mezzacorona, the parent company, Cantine Rotari, which produces Trento DOC Metodo Classico sparkling wines, and Feudo Arancio, based in Sambuca di Sicilia. Rotari takes its name from stories and legends of the valiant Longobard King Rotari who fought some of the most important battles in the Trentino part of Trentino Alto Adige within the conquest for Italy. Today, Rotari’s name stands in the heart of the Italian Alps as an authentic signature of Heritage. The Rotari winery, designed with sustainability in mind, is a true architectural jewel (named 2009 European Winery of the Year). Trento DOC was the first Metodo Classico appellation created outside of France and is the oldest Metodo Classico DOC denomination of Italy. Trento DOC’s total production is boutique & low yield: about 1,000 Hectares or 9,000,000 bottles. The vineyards are situated in the Dolomites at a height of between 200 and 900 metres above sea level. Importantly, Trento DOC has a distinctive identity: research concluded that the unique Alpine temperature exchanges have a true signature on the wines made here.

Rotari is one of the few Metodo Classico wineries that still harvests its grapes by hand. Vineyard heights range from just below 200m to above 600m a.s.l. Soils are Dolomia, a unique calcium and magnesium carbonate stone formed over 250 million years ago, which boosts the aromatic profile and minerality of grapes.

In Spring, the base wine is enriched with yeast and bottled with crown caps, then stored horizontally. Here takes place the second fermentation. The fine and delicate mousse which characterizes Rotari Riserva d'Oro Millesimato Brut, is obtained calibrating the right amount of ageing on the lees, to find that uniquely perfect balance. The final product ages and refines on the lees for at least 36 months.

Upon delivery, each micro batch of grapes is divided according to quality, then crushed and pressed with soft presses. The over 200 stainless steel tanks preserve various quality levels which Rotari’s winemakers blend to perfectly balance sugars and the unique acidity of grapes. First fermentation takes place in the Rotari winery, built 70% underground and powered by renewable resources.
