The Merlot grapes for this vintage are sourced from multiple vineyard blocks at Vergelegen Estate, located in Stellenbosch. The vines are deeply rooted in ancient, well-draining soils that contribute to the wine’s concentration and depth of flavor​.

The wine spent 16 months in French oak, with 20% of the barrels being new. This contributes to the integrated tannin structure and imparts subtle oak and spice notes​.

After hand-harvesting, the Merlot undergoes a controlled fermentation process to retain its vibrant fruit profile. Post-fermentation, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels where it matures for 16 months, with approximately 20% of the barrels being new.
