A passionate believer in the power of wine regionality, Wade Bales, a négociant for the past 25 years, set out to identify the prime wine-growing areas in the Cape, and signature wine for each of these regions. Together with each region's best winemakers, he has sought to create wines that best express the region's unique character.

The diversity of Franschhoek’s soils, the microclimates created by surrounding mountain ranges, the beautiful vistas and world-class estates, make for a many-faceted valley. From hospitality, Michelin-star dining, and artisanal produce, its winemaking has stood out in recent years with a specific focus on Semillon. Home to four of the ten centenarian vineyards of South Africa (three Semillon), and a significant number of old vine parcels, result in the distinctive quality of Franschhoek Semillon.

Four Franschhoek winemakers contributed their finest barrels to produce the Regional Series Franschhoek Semillon 2021. A uniquely collaborative process designed to showcase a true expression of their regional signature style.
