Located at the foot of the south / south-west coast of Saint-Emilion, the Daugay vineyard benefits from a beautiful sunshine which favors the maturity of the grapes. It is here, in the heart of this exceptional terroir, that the 40-year-old vines draw their strength and vitality. Combining the freshness of clay with the filtering power of limestone, the soil offers a nice balance to the different grape varieties. This fair "clay-limestone" distribution naturally drains the soil, ensures a relative freshness of the soil which allows the vine to be fed with trace elements. A perfect alchemy, which gives the different grape varieties - 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon - a precocity and a particular identity.

Chateau Daugay and its vineyards were formerly part of Chateau Angelus and have been run as an independent winery for around 50 years. The Merlot for Le Piaf grows in a very special plot of the winery, Le Bois. Sand and gravel dominate the terroir here.
