At Château Thivin , the oldest wine - growing estate in Mont-Brouilly , a special atmosphere reigns, that of a human-sized castle where the Geoffray family has been developing, for 6 generations , quality wines with the greatest respect for the terroirs. The grape harvests carried out by hand and the somewhat interventionist vinifications make it possible to obtain real local wines. The Domaine's vines are located mainly on the Crus Côte de Brouilly and Brouilly, but we also produce Beaujolais Blanc, Rosé and Sparkling cuvées from the most magnificent Beaujolais vineyards.

5 ha south-facing vineyard half-way up the hillside; already famous in the 17th century, as Louvet wrote in his History of the Beaujolais Wine Region written in 1635: “on the hill of Brulhié (Brouilly), in the parish of Oudenas (Odenas) […] which slope or hill bears the best wines of the region”.

After pressing, the wine is matured in oak tuns for 7–9 months.

The grapes are wholly picked by hand and vinified partly in whole bunches in our hillside cellars, whose successive levels allow us to make maximum use of gravity, so as to avoid using either pumps or conveyors for the grapes.
