Deetlefs Wine Estate, situated in the picturesque Breedekloof (Rawsonville), is the second oldest wine estate in South Africa under ownership of the same family, established in 1822 and celebrated 200 years of existence in 2022. Age old family traditions passed through the generations and an intimate knowledge of every facet of this estate can be experienced in our handcrafted, classic styled wines.

Further ageing of 12 months before bottling.

Grapes were picked at optimal ripeness to ensure good balance between fruity aromas, sugar and acidity. Harvesting was done by hand. Grapes are destemmed and lightly crushed with 24 hours skin contact for extraction of aromas. After pressing, the juice is fortified with neutral wine spirits. Regular stirring occurs to ensure marriage between juice and spirits.
