Pinot Noir Rose

This rosé is versatile and pairs well with a variety of dishes. Ideal pairings include summer salads, light seafood dishes like grilled prawns, and berry-focused desserts. It is also an excellent accompaniment to light appetizers or can be enjoyed on its own as a refreshing aperitif​.

Glen Carlou Vineyards is minutes away from the university town of Stellenbosch and less than 35 minutes’ drive from Cape Town. Situated in the Simonsberg-Paarl region of South Africa’s Western Cape, our estate was transformed from being a dairy farm in 1985 to a wine farm. Walter Finlayson acquired the property known as ‘Len Carlou’. He not only enhanced the name but with his affinity for Burgundian wines, the first vine plantings were those of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. After a 13-year period of ownership by the Swiss based Hess Group, Glen Carlou transferred back to local ownership in 2016 when a South African family consortium purchased the estate.

Grapes for this rosé are sourced from select vineyard sites where Pinot Noir thrives under the cooler conditions of the Simonsberg-Paarl region. The vineyard management practices focus on sustainability, ensuring the health of the vines and the surrounding ecosystem, which results in high-quality fruit ideal for making fresh and vibrant wines​.

The wine is made using a gentle pressing of the Pinot Noir grapes to extract a light pink color. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh fruit flavors and maintain the wine's vibrant profile. The use of temperature-controlled fermentation ensures that the delicate aromas and flavors are not lost.
