Gewürztraminer

Gewurztraminer is perfect for aromatic, slightly spicy Asian cuisine, and all types of poultry. For a perfect pairing, try it with duck in honey glaze or sweet berry sauce. It also enhances fish dishes, especially fatty fish like salmon.

Morgenhof is Wine Estate 4 km from the centre of Stellenbosh. Bosting award winning wines and picturesque views if the Simonberg mountain. On the farm we have a selection of activities ranging from wine tasting, quad bike rides up the mountain to restaurants and a cocktail bar. We have wedding and function areas and offer accommodation on the farm.

The wine was aged on the lees for 9 months to develop more complex flavors and a rounder palet.

The grapes are handpicked into harvest crates early in the morning to ensure the temperature in the grapes stay as low as possible to preserve fresh flavours. Crushing and de-stemming takes place, whereafter the juice was kempt on the skins for several hours, before pressing, to extract extra flavors. The juice settled for 48hrs and was then transferred to stainless steel and inoculated with commercial yeats.
