Our family has been farming the fertile soils of the Onkaparinga Valley since 1939 and in this time there have been many cattle grazing, hens laying, potatoes grown, flowers picked and since 1998 we have been passionately caring for our vines, and making great wines. Our vineyard is located behind the township of Oakbank in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Producing excellent Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. There has been a lot of blood sweat and tears along the way. Now, with 20 vintages under our belt the results speak for themselves. We carefully hand prune, shoot thin, bunch thin, and hand pick to produce the best possible wines that show the unique characters of our place.

The 2021 vintage has been celebrated after a more difficult 2020 in the Hills. Some early season rain set up the vintage for even flowering. Temperatures never spiked, allowing for a slow, even, long growing season that is being recognized as one of the best in recent memory for quantity and quality. A high altitude vineyard in the Piccadilly Valley of the Adelaide Hills, the pinot meunier vines were planted in 1996. A northwest aspect gives plenty of sunshine required to express this grape varietal to its full potential. These vines stand at 525m above sea level, taking a few degrees edge off the summer heat with very cool night temperatures, retaining natural acidity.

Maturation in barrique and puncheons, with 20% new Austrian Stockinger oak for 6 months.

Small batch open fermenters with wild spontaneous ferments. 40% whole bunch inclusion.
