Rickety Bridge Winery is an historic Franschhoek wine estate. Situated in the renowned Franschhoek valley the food and wine capital of South Africa the Rickety Bridge winery and Country Manor House nestle against the hillside overlooking vineyards and the majestic Wemmershoek Mountains. The land dates back to 1694 when the farms were granted to the first French Huguenots who settled in the area.

The Sleeper Shiraz is made from a single vineyard grown in the Franschhoek Valley. The grapes were harvested by hand early February and placed into small crates.

Barrel maturation took place in 100% new French oak barrels for a total of 24 months before blending and bottling.

Fermentation took place in open fermentation tanks using 50% whole bunches. Two punch downs were done daily whilst the wine underwent fermentation, with the grapes being pressed gently after 30 days.
