This Malbec pairs excellently with rich dishes such as grilled red meats, lamb, and game. Its bold structure also complements dishes with earthy flavours, like mushroom risotto or truffle-based dishes.

La Carmela vineyard is located on the southern part of Uco Valley, planted in the highest area of the Tunuyan River alluvial fan. It expresses the unique identity of Apellation Paraje Altamira. The soil, of alluvial origin, is composed of sand, silt, and clay with underlying stones and large granite rocks covered with calcareous material and a complexity found only in the foothill of the Andes. It is here we source our Malbec from 60 year old vines.

The wines are then moved to 60% new and 40% second fill french oak barrels for 20-24 months.

From the vineyard to the cellar the grapes go through various selection processes to ensure we get only the best fruit. Hand harvested into small lug boxes and transported to the cellar. Where grapes go through a hand sorting, they are then transfered by gravity into unlined concrete vessels for fermentation, using only native yeasts. Maticulous hand punch downs are done for the duration of fermentation.
