Vergelegen’s GVB Red 2016 is a Bordeaux-style blend made primarily from grapes grown on the Rondekop vineyards, located in Stellenbosch. The estate benefits from cool, windy conditions, which help produce grapes with concentrated flavors.

This wine was aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak barrels, adding complexity and allowing the wine to develop fine tannins and a smooth texture.

The winemaking process for this vintage followed traditional Bordeaux methods. The wine underwent fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation to soften the acids.
