On the palate

Straw gold appearance with amber lights, bright and joyful effervescence. The nose is vivacious and precise at first, with a progressively affirming and ample and complex structure. Young and tender fruity aromas – blackcurrant, wild blackberry and very ripe Morello cherry – melted with vigorous freshly crushed citrus fruits. Final with discrete notes of vanilla, quince and acacia honey. The palate is full and restrained at the same time, wrapped in the supple flavors of ripe fruits with spicy notes: cinnamon, cedar wood and roasted walnuts. Great harmony. The finish has a zest of candied quince, subtle and long.

BRUNO PAILLARD Champagne is an independent family-run house. Its exceptional vineyards are located in the heart of the Champagne region. The wines have a highly personal style characterized by stringent quality control at every stage of the process. Our viticulture is slow and sustainable the BRUNO PAILLARD house uses only the first pressing of Chardonnay Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir and each cru is produced separately in oak barrels or stainless steel tanks. Not only this but reserve wines are blended to make an extra brut “dosage” and wines are aged two to four times longer than the minimum required by the appellation. The house was the first to indicate the date of disgorgement on its bottles so that our clients can choose when to taste BRUNO PAILLARD champagne. The Premiere Cuvée Rosé Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru N.P.U. “Nec Plus Ultra” and our collection of old vintages are available at independent wine merchants and are served at the world’s best restaurants.

A year with a temperate and harmonious climate, far from the excesses of the previous vintage… It is even relatively dry and cool compared with the decade’s average. March remains cool and April saw limited frosts, the vegetal development of the vine started late and flowering was steady between June 10th and 20th. With a warm and dry July the vine developed healthily but was threatened by hydric stress. This risk soon vanished thanks to heavy and frequent rains through August. This sudden rainfall reinvigorated the grape’s growth and maturity, and their development continued through September with a magnificent and warm Indian summer. This perfect end to the season sealed the destiny of the vintage, with the healthy grapes just needing to ripen. Harvests started on September 25th for Meuniers and on the 27th for Chardonnaysand Pinots Noirs. They lasted three weeks.
