The story of Nederburg is one of dreams disappointments sorrows and successes that for more than 200 years have made up the lives of the many men and women who have lived loved and laboured there. With the first vineyards planted around 1791 the founders of Nederburg were people of tremendous vision strength and courage - people who developed Nederburg from a bare patch of wilderness into one of South Africa's most eminent wine farms.

The grapes for this wine are sourced from top-performing vineyards located in the Paarl, Stellenbosch, and Darling regions of South Africa. The vines grow in a combination of granite, sandstone, and shale soils, which contribute to the grapes' natural acidity and depth of flavor. The vineyard's open canopies allow for optimal sunlight, enhancing the fruit's color and tannin structure​.

The wine is aged in a mix of French and American oak barrels for about 12 to 18 months, with the oak imparting subtle smoky and vanilla notes that balance with the fruit flavours​.

The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks before maturing in a combination of French and American oak barrels. This process helps develop the wine's complexity, adding notes of oak and spice while preserving the fruit's vibrant characteristics​.
